Eaglets make history

The Golden Eaglets continued their record-setting performance at the Chile 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup on Wednesday when they defeated Australia 6-0 to become the joint-biggest scoring side in the history of the competition’s knockout stages.
According to FIFA.com, Japan first achieved the record in 2011 when they beat New Zealand 6-0 in the Round of 16. Nigeria became the second side to do same with Wednesday’s win.

“Nigeria’s 6-0 victory over Australia is the joint-biggest win in the history of the FIFA Under-17 World Cup knockout stages, level with Japan’s 6-0 win against New Zealand in 2011, which also come in the Round of 16,” FIFA wrote.
Also, Eaglets forward, Victor Osimhen, is currently the highest goalscorer of Chile 2015 after his hat-trick against Australia brought his goals to seven. He scored a goal in the 2-0 victory over USA, a brace in the 5-1 defeat of Chile and the consolation goal in the 2-1 loss to Croatia.
Earlier in the group stages, Eaglets midfielder, Samuel Chukwueze, scored the third fastest goal so far in the history of the competition, when he hit the target after 25 seconds in Nigeria’s 5-1 mauling of Chile.
