PM News reports that Opunabo Inko-Tariah, the senior special adviser
on media and publicity, issued a statement that read in part: “As
the Chief Security Officer of the state who swore to protect life and
property, he will not tolerate actions that will lead to a breakdown of
law and order in the state.”
Addressing the residents and all those transacting businesses in the state, the governor assured them of safety and urged to go about their lawful duties.
Protesters, who yesterday paralyzed movement and activities in Port Harcourt, were supporters of Biafra. They took to the street of the city to protest the detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the director of Radio Biafra.
“We want our freedom that is why we are here. We are not comfortable with the Nigerian government, the intimidation, killing and all that; that is why we want our freedom. We feel very bad about his detention and it is affecting each and every one of us. We are not comfortable, we want to go!” Nnenna Nwaoha, the secretary of the Indigenous People of Biafra in Delta, said.
