
Dr Ifeanyi Okowa in a jubilant mood recently
The statement read: “The Delta State Election Tribunal only confirmed the mandate of the people given to Senator Okowa in the April 11,2015 governorship election. This sweet victory is for all Deltans and to God be the glory. Let us join hands with the Governor for the rapid development of the state.”
Also, a former chairmanship aspirant for Warri south local government area, Mr Victor Agbateyiniro, said he was elated by the verdict given by the election tribunal.
He said: “I must tell you that I am full of joy with the outcome of the tribunal. The man worked hard and campaigned seriously for him to be elected and am so glad that his election was upheld by tribunal.
“This is a victory for all Deltans. The decision of the tribunal to uphold the election of our dynamic Governor did not come to me by surprise. We in PDP worked very hard to ensure his election and now that the tribunal has uphold his election, let us support the Governor in his determination to move our state forward.”
Also Princess Josephine Oduaran, a former chairman of Ughelli South local government area of the state, said the verdict of the election tribunal was a welcome development to the people of the state as she drummed support for the governor.
“I am so happy with the outcome of the election tribunal in favour of the people oriented Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa. We should allow the Governor to settle down for the real business of governance in the state. We should all support him to succeed,” she said.
Earlier today, the governorship election tribunal sitting in Delta state upheld the election of Ifeanyi Okowa of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in one of the few victories of the opposition party at the federal level.
